From Thursday 1 to Friday 30 September, at the Urban Centre “/candiani5” it is possible to visit the exhibition about the winner of the international competition for projects “New Palazzo del Cinema and surrounding areas”.

The exhibition presents the project by the study 5+1 & Rudy Ricciotti, winner of the international competition announced by the Biennale of Venice for the building of the new Palazzo del Cinema at the Lido. The project winner of the competition distinguishes itself also for its high level of environmental sustainability in the area in which the palace will be built, at the Lido of Venice.

The competition was presented one year ago, bidders were called in August 2004 and the procedure ended in May 2005. "Venice will finally have a suitable palace for the ever growing popularity of the Mostra del Cinema, and above all in line with the new international technologic scene” declared David Croff, President of the Biennale of Venice.

By means of graphic panels and videos, besides the winning project by the Genoa study 5+1 together with French architect Rudy Ricciotti, there is an explanation of the other projects, presented by several internationally known studies: Stefano Boeri, Bolles - Wilson, Francesco Cellini, Peter Eisenman, Massimiliano Fuksas, Klaus Kada, MBM Arquitectes, Rafael Moneo.

The exhibition, with free entrance, is open on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5 p.m. to 7.30 p.m., and on Wednesdays and Fridays from 10 a.m. to 1.30 p.m.
